The CIP-Unicom Starker team have announced a revised line up for the 2016 Moto3 season with young Italian rider Fabio Spinarelli joining current rider Tatsuki Suzuki in the team for this season.
Suzuki will start his second season with the team hoping to improve on his 9 points and 28th position in the championship which he gained in 2015. The young Japanese rider has experience in the FIM CEV Repsol as well as the world championship so will be aiming to build on that experience in 2016.
Spinarelli replaces the Moto2 bound Remy Gardner who has physically outgrown the lightweight class and joins the AGP team in the intermediate class. Spinarelli joins the team after finishing fourth in the Italian CIV championship Moto3 class which earned him the chance at world championship level. His four podium place finishes were enough to convince the CIP team of his potential and give him a chance on the world stage.
Announcing the line-up, team owner Alain Bronec said:
To do a second season with Tatsuki Suzuki is an opportunity to build something great on the work we made last season when he managed to score some points and get good positions on the grid. The work has paid off and Tatsuki relies on us. Furthermore, we are delighted to welcome a very promising young Italian rider. For this 2016 season, Tatsuki and Fabio will ride Mahindra and wear #24 and #3, respectively.
The pair will line up as team-mates for the first time at the CommercialBank Grand Prix of Qatar on March 20th.
